Tip for Your Success #11: Your Most Inspired Outcomes

This 2-minute tip is about a simple language change that can make a big difference to how you feel and respond to goal setting.

While working with some very successful clients recently, I asked them to write down what they felt when they heard the word ‘Goals’.

They came back with:

  • “I feel like it’s going to be hard work.”
  • “I feel like I have to be really driven.”
  • “I feel like I have to achieve it.”

I then asked them to try the same exercise again, this time responding to the phrase: “My most inspired outcomes.”

They immediately came back with:

  • “I feel lighter.”
  • “I feel more energised.”
  • “I feel like I can’t wait to actually go and achieve those things.”

At this stage, they hadn’t yet even written any outcomes down.

There’s a massive difference between drive and inspiration

Drive is incessant and we feel like we have to keep trying to achieve something.

Whereas with inspiration, we can’t wait to get to those outcomes.

If you want significantly different outcomes in your life, simply change the word ‘Goals’ to your ‘Most Inspired Outcomes’.
